At L74, we believe that the cider Gods have chosen us to spread the cider gospel the best we can! This is why we’re so optimistic about changing the cider game forever. This is why we go the extra mile to brighten your day the best we can, by making our L74 ciders with love and care, all the way through! From the first step of hand-picking the freshest apples from the Himalayan range to the final step of maturation, our craft cider process is undertaken with the utmost love for both: cider, and cider drinkers!
Back in 2019, Kalp, a finance pro (read: alcohol aficionado), on yet another long journey back home from work, yearned to have a refreshing drink. But the finance professional didn’t feel like investing another evening into the usual hard liquor or straightforward and boring beer. That’s when the (b)right idea struck him. Ciders. Subtle, dry, bright, and complete with just the right amount of kick. That is what he wanted to unwind with. Armed with this motive to shine the light of glorious ciders upon everyone, he got to the task of doing some serious research. He then approached his brother Ayush with the plan that was set to instantly brighten both their lives up.
Ayush, an economist (read: just as big an alcohol aficionado), whose #1 pastime up until then had been to pinpoint which drink goes best with every meal, jumped at the idea of launching this pallet-enhancing, good-vibes-spreading, and original Indian cider brand.
The company was thus born and spearheaded by Kalp and Ayush – the two cousins with a shared love of all things cider. After years of experimentation, trial, and error, they finally arrived at the perfect process and careful combination of flavours. Their hunch was confirmed by all their friends, most of whom were purely drinkers of hard liquor. The approval of yet more friends who (up until then) were total teetotallers was just the icing on their cider cake – they knew this cider was about to brighten up not just their weekends, but their work days as well!
The name L74 came about thanks to destiny and synchronicity. The place in Goa that they almost took up but then didn’t, happened to be on the longitude 74°. When they later decided to operate out of the wine capital Nashik, they realised that this place was also coincidentally on the exact same longitude. Firm believers in fate, they decided to name their ciders L74, and the rest is history (in the making).
